Thanks Somerset. Our delivery, which ships from Somerset - a miserable place, I'm sure - is delayed until 3 pm. So I had to open the store at 8 and will be there til 9! Luckily I am home now for a little break. But I am off this weekend. I have big plans: if I could find an image that displayed me reading 10 graphic novels and filling a few more pages of my sketchbook I would. Currently reading the first of The Sin City books, just finished Benkei in New York and The Escapist. I need to start writing down what I read. It's a nice thing to see built up. If I did it all on here you'd call me a Johnny Braggin' Lot. I'd like to compile all of the Johnny's: Johnny Come Lately, Johnny Come Quickly, Johnny-on-the-Spot, Johnny Jump Up, Johnny Cake, Johnny Bait, Johnny Cash. Anymore? Do Tell! Joel, you know you have some.

TONIGHT!
Though I'm not super excited because I read a bad review. Well, it wasn't "Elizabethtown" bad, I read really bad ones for that - they just weren't great. So I'm a little nervous. Like the way Dr Katz was drawn. Yeah, like the lettuce.

Picture a plane flying through the cracks and tears of a cold and lonely heart, mending it warmly. You've just pictured Tuesday night!

...

I cannot repose! More specifically: I cannot go to bed and have to get up in about 3 hours! Why this shattered life? Oh, Braxis!

Enough sneaking

And Jesus just told me about a new Wes Anderson movie, called The Darjeeling Limited.

Tiger BOMB!

Dustin and I once wanted to get into Techno. Don't ask why. And don't ask why we went to Walmart late one night to buy 'a techno cd'. I bought Moby. And loved it. I'm listening to some right now from the album Play. And that was the extent of my techno phase. That was my first year in college when Dustin was in his senior year of high school. That was a sad and strange time. In a cramped dorm room with someone quieter than me. And classes were much more difficult than anything I had in high school. Very hard to adjust. And I had told Em just before the semester started that I just wanted to be friends. Yeah, I pulled one of those. My reasoning: I didn't want to hurt her because I had no idea what to expect going into this very new situation. We hadn't started dating yet. Well I guess it depends on how you view it. We didn't state anythng, that I know. The first 'statement' was when I said that thing about being friends. But that October (October 24th), we did start dating. It made school a lot better.

Dustin, Em and I used to hang out all the time. We were a couple of threes. Then I became Christian and kept, subtly, trying to get Dustin to go to church. Dustin and grew apart because of this. Then he went to IUP, which added to our distance, and we really grew apart.

I could read that chain of events another way. That's the funny thing about cause and effect and regret and 'fate.' It's really just your own perspective on it, your emotional bias that does the telling. It seems to me that Dustin and I would have stayed close friends if I had not become Christian, but honestly I am just more than willing to stem all sorts of bad results from my becoming Christian. But the fact remains it brought Em and I together. At that time in Emily's life, who knows if she would have stayed with me if I had not become Christian.

If I had not become Christian. My head is flooded with 'then's. But it's a mixed bag really. Of good and bad. Bad is my friendship with people like Dustin and Steve and Chaz and my relationship with my family. Trying to proselytize my parents! The thought of that. Thank you sir, don't mind if I do. That guy is so very helpful. I wonder if he does birthdays. Speaking of which.

I'm getting old. But I don't mind. From an outside perspective I can see it looking bad. Assistant Manager at CVS. Not using my degree, as if I could anyway. But I do use my degree. Just the other day some customer asked me if we carried philosophy. I directed her to the humanities aisle and pointed out the various products: Socrates Cartoon Band-Aids, Plato and the Cave Heat Patch, Aristotle Meta-Vinegar Douche, Aquinas' Tampon and City of Tampoon, Lucretius and his Iron-On Nature-Patch, Pascal Pensee's, Montagne's Sting-Essay, Descartes' Cogito Ergo Sometimes Pill, Kant's Categorical Impotence Pills , Maxi-Hegel-pads, Hume Tiger BOMB!, Kierkegaard's Pseudonymous Vaginal Swabs, Rousseau and his Pussy Cleanser, Locke that Down Tabula RastaFarian guaze, Nietzsche and God Pills, Heidegger is a Witch! (Hazel), Wittgenstein was Gay Rubbing Alcohol, Ayer Postively Pregnant test, Davidson and his Action Patch. Incidentally, that's the extent of my knowledge of philosophy - I can name some philsosophers. That what I get for this Bad Ass degree.

Listening to Aimme Mann. Don't worry though. I like it. To the bank and the Post.

I got way too many books out of the library. Are you curious? I am too, that's why I got them in the first place. I like to read stuff. It's cool.

Today I dropped off Emily at the airport, which is sad. But I think it will go by quick. I then went to the library, as I said, then to Phantom of the Attic and almost bought a couple of things. But didn't. Whew. Then I went grocery shopping and made one mistake. It was this salsa. I got the wrong stuff! And it wasn't cheap! I considered taking it back saying something about a hair and I could call the company and could I have store credit? Which I might still do. hmm...

Band practice tonight. Then who knows what. I don't. Not this one.

Jason, you blowhard!

I didn't have a horrible time in Minneapolis - I'm just a negative nelly! Oh shit! I got to see loads of things. Feast your little shinies on these sights. More like sites because there's nothing to sigh about. Please tell me you got that. Email me about it, asap. Oh SHIT!

The basilica. Silent Awe is what I gave it.

The Sculpture Gardens. I met these people because I'm gregarious, as you know. (I'm the one still in high school, 4th from right, I mean left)
America's Mall. Some kid gave me a wedgie and I cried. Fuck you little kid! I don't even care anymore.
Go ahead and enlarge this picture. You'll see that it's not funny. It's a serious cliff. And I thought about the Good Son. Which Joel and I watched a little of one night. "Way cool," Joel Lame said. "Laaame," said Jason Cool.
The Minneapolis Premiere. Why. Weren't you there? Christa's favorite line: "It's happening." Mine: "Here's some tea to cool you down."

I got a stomach ache. Who saw that coming? Minneapolis didn't. He made me eat shit because of it. He was like: "Twin Cities," and "Skyway." Which is her language. I replied with a retort. She said, "10,000 lakes." I said, "Isn't it more like 11,842?" "Touchee," said Minneapolis; which I am hoping is a town or something because I don't see how she knew that word and it's still on my mind. Why do you read this?

Also, this sign which read "Get it On!" and displayed a hand placing a helmet on a head. Safety, so...

I do not know:

1) Why I went.
2) Why I am still awake.

I had an ok time. It was good to see Christa and Zerche, but it was 14-17 hours to get there and gas is expensive and The Mall of America is not that spectacular - though I did say "Whoa". You should have been there. When I said "Whoa". It's hard to find things to say when you aren't good at talking. Sorry to all those who have ever had an awkward, silent moment with me. I kept thinking, what would Teresa say right now? or what would Mike 9 say? Because you two are great conversationalists. Me? HUH.

I really missed Emily. She's my wife. I realized I don't feel right without her. I honestly felt incomplete and out of place.

Joel and I showed the movie to a few of Christa's friends. Everytime I watch it I get more and more depressed. The amount of time I put into the movie becomes less and less visible with each viewing. All I see is the quality of the video and the goofiness of the writing. And the reactions sometimes don't help. If I wanted your feedback I'd allow comments: because I know what you'll say. But it's just how I feel.

I am sick of the silent life. Why are conversations so hard to start and maintain? Maybe it's because I hate awkward moments and try to avoid them. The obvious irony - by avoiding the awkwadness of a conversation with someone I haven't seen in awhile or with someone I just met - I make things more awkward. And since I won't tell you that in person, I put it here. Uncouth? Yeah, well...gives me something to do.

Anyone up for watching Baby Luke?

Small Pop

I mean Miny Soda, I mean I'm in Minnesota for crying out loud! God. Wisconsin, Joel and I have decided, needs to go away. I hate you Wisco, you are bad. Yep, the twin cities. It's no problem really. Just chillin'. In the twin cities. Yep.

It's cold though and I forgot my jacket. Smart, huh? Yeah, well... So we are going to do a lot of stuff and I won't tell you about any of it. Not until I get home. But if you want to know, here it is: we are going to get funned.

Or else.

Joel and I are leaving for the above state of Minnesota. It's a daunting 14 hours to get there, but I'm going to speed; which is another word for turbo. Keep Emily company while I'm gone friends. Do it for love.
